I’ve gotten very positive results by combining the 75hz output with VRR to achieve the system’s native frame output.
Due to a quirk with VRR on my TV, the screen blacks out for a few seconds whenever the screen orientation changes between horizontal and vertical. Whenever a game has you switch orientations between levels (Klonoa and Megaman are two examples), the game displays a screen asking you to turn the system, waiting until you’re ready before resuming gameplay.
The issue with the auto-orientation feature is that the orientation doesn’t switch until gameplay has started, meaning that the VRR blackout occurs during gameplay. I would enjoy it if I could set a button to toggle between “Horz” and “Vert180” orientations, so I could conveniently switch orientations when the game prompts me, without having to pull up the OSD. I specify “Vert180” because I’m not personally aware of any games that utilize the other vertical orientation.
