use strict permissions: only content read is required for repo checkout
run on Ubuntu Noble
skip bourne shell and tmpfs, with questionable performance benefit
remove GitHub actions' release URL comments, as those are updated automatically by dependabot
update Python version to match dietpi.com server
use <(command) substitution syntax to simplify calls
