At least we are one step closer to a successful setup :)
The google test repository is a submodule, therefore, you need to clone the repository using the recursive flag
git clone --recursive ...
Or for an existing repository use
git submodule update --init --recursive
(I hope the latter work, copied it from stack overflow ;))
Did you have had any success?
I have created a VM image in the meantime. If you are interested. The project is installed in the ~/speedy.js directory.
See #15
It was still failing, didn't get enough time to figure out the issue. I will try with image and let you know.
Can I close this issue?
Sorry I couldn't get enough time. between, on mac the VM image was not extracting properly. You may close this now. I will follow up when i get some free time.

I'm sorry to hear that. What a great picture you must have of me ;)
I will update the VM shortly and, maybe, we can give it another try. I will post an update in this thread to get you notified.
Thanks Micha
I have uploaded an updated VM. I also updated the installation documentation (It now requires more manual steps but I expect that it also makes it more understandable what's going on).
In case you face any new issues please let me know.
I compiled LLVM locally and tried to start
