since it seems there’s no free version of this app and only a monthly payment of $2 to patreon to be able to install the app thru the altstore I’d like to have an option for a one-time purchase instead.

As of now one-time purchase is not possible, because AltStore payment system is based on Patreon subscriptions. If one-time purchase becomes an option I will definitely consider it.

The app will always be available to sideload for free from GitHub, though.

ok, it is possible to have it free at altstore as well (since it’s free to side load). :)

Side loading isn’t possible with altstore PAL.
