Recent used files are not found or on the top of the list while searching #18

Thanks a lot for forking Synapse. It was one of the best tools on Linux. The forked Synapse works better than the old version but on Ubuntu 18.04 the recent files are often not found or not on the top of the list. For documents it sometimes works to switch to the "Documents tab" to find it but not always and it has to be searched with the search function and then the recent files are often way at the bottom of the list. Is there anything I can do to improve this behaviour? Thanks

Hi @Filbuntu I'm afraid I do not use Synapse anymore (I'm using rofi if you are interested in checking it out). I am happy to accept Pull Requests to this synapse fork if you wish to give your issue a go :)

Hi @MichaelAquilina ! Thank you for the response and the tip for rofi! It is a pity you are not using Synapse anymore.
What is better with rofi?
It seems it can not launch the files themselves, e.g. the recently used files or search for them, is this correct?

Sorry if I expressed myself not clearly. I am not a developer or programmer and therefore can not contribute to Synapse although I would love to as it was the best launcher to launch my previously and most used files which made the work flow more efficient.
But as written the old and forked Synapse often don't present the previously used files especially documents and it takes longer to find and open them. I hoped I could change something in the settings to improve the behaviour or tweak something in the program with your help.

@Filbuntu technically correct, but the beauty of Rofi is that it is super easy to extend. Take this list as inspiration for example https://github.com/davatorium/rofi/wiki/User-scripts

Thank you for the hint and link. Unfortunately there is no script for searching/displaying the recent files for rofi and this is the main feature I need. But thanks anyway, it may happen in the future. In the meantime I probably have to find another launcher 😔.
