Can't seem to import a .conf or .ovpn on Nexus 4 from internal storage. #231

I can't import config files, even ones that are generated by OpenVPN for
Android (emailed, saved as a file, emailed back).

Phone: Nexus 4, unlocked bootloader but NOT rooted.
OS: stock Android 4.4.2 - Not rooted, stock android recovery.
--
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a config file in OpenVPN for android
2. Show generated config
3. Email myself the generated config
4. Save the generated config as test.conf AND test.ovpn (to internal storage)
5. Click the "Folder" to import a config.
6. Select "Downloads"

RESULT -> both test.conf and test.ovpn are greyed out..

7. Select "Settings" -> "Display Advanced Devices"
8. Select the pull out, choose "Internal Storage"
9. Browse to Download
10. test.conf and test.ovpn are black (they can be selected).
11. Choose the file

RESULT -> Message:
"Importing config file from source
content://com.android.externalstorage.documents/document/primary%3ADownload%2Fte
st.ovpn"
"Error reading config file"
"Options warning: Bad backslash ('\') usage"
================

Attached a config file generated as described above (server, certificate and
TLS keys removed)..

The attached file imports fine in my test. Can you double check that the
attaced file shows the same problems as the orginal file on your device?

Yes. It works!

I have found the issue is not with ics-openvpn but with the Android 4.4.2 email
mail client.

For some reason it is garbling my attachment when I save it!

Connecting via ADB and concatenating the file, I can see the one I
re-downloaded from here is correct, BUT the same filed when emailed and "save
attachment" clicked is garbage.

Apologies for not digging deeper myself, I didn't even think to check that the
email was saved correctly!

Thanks for you great work.
Please close this issue.
