Feature Request: create a library, isolating GUI #247

Hi Arne!

I'd like to know if you've considered splitting current ics-openvpn codebase into "library" and "gui", so that third party apps can make use of your pure vpn code implementing different UIs.

The particular use case I'm trying to implement is using that theoretical library in our Bitmask Android app (https://github.com/leapcode/bitmask_android/). We have a simplified UI along with an upper layer protocol to establish a secure vpn connection easily, but right now we're using an ancient version of your package adapted to our needs.

Hope it seems interesting for you, if so we could talk more about this idea and its implications.

 Read you soon!

core and UI code in my app already have good seperation and there are already
too many clients blatantly violating the GPL license of my app. I don't really
have interest in making it even easier.

Your client is the first one I know off which actually obeys the GPL license.

oh, yes, I'm sorry to hear that but I understand.

No problem though, there are more solutions. Thanks for your quick response
