Feedback section #1

Open Mick9105 opened 2 years ago

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

This is the section for asking for feedback. I will say which sections of feedback I wanted on (if it is ok).

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

Can you test to see if you can access this and leave a comment?

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Yes I can comment :)

I can even quote back to a particular thing you have said/asked.

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 testing

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

I will use this to ask for feedback on my website, so keep an eye out in case I do ask.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Cool, just make sure you tag me so it sends me an email and I know to check :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 How do you open the files onto a different tab? I want to see if everything is working as it should.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

That's an excellent question, and I am not yet sure - I will see if I can figure it out :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 I have a question and then a request. In the pages section, under "code and automation" in the settings, there is an option to select a theme. Supposedly I can change the settings so that it follows a theme that is automatically made in Github pages. Could you have a look at that and see if this would be allowed under the standard? If so, could you give your opinion on what theme would work and look best for the purpose of my website? I'm basically asking for feedback from a different perspective, because I think doing a theme might save me some time.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

In answer to one part, yes I think that using a theme would be okay. As long as you still control enough of the features of your website that you can show each of the things from the standard:

Use complex techniques to develop a digital media outcome involves: ● applying appropriate tools and techniques to meet the purpose and end-user requirements ● applying appropriate data integrity and testing procedures ● applying user experience principles relevant to the purpose of the outcome ● addressing relevant implications.

Use complex techniques to develop an informed digital media outcome involves: ● using information from testing procedures to improve the quality of the digital media outcome ● applying user experience principles to improve the quality of the digital media outcome.

Use complex techniques to develop a refined digital media outcome involves: ● iterative improvement throughout the design, development and testing process to produce a high-quality outcome ● using efficient tools and techniques in the outcome’s production.

I will have a look now at the themes and see which one might work :)

@shale4 Hi there.

I tried looking around with themes, but I think it would be harder, but generally easier to understand if I stuck with regular code, and tried developing the website from scratch (not related to the website Scratch). I have just trailed the testing of the links, and saw that they are working appropriately. Could you have a look at the research I have done, and give some feedback or suggestions on what sections of the research I can improve (for example, suggesting diagrams)? The website will obviously look much better, as I plan on experimenting with colours, layouts, etc to see what works best and what doesn't. I just want to focus on the information this week.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

This is looking really good so far Michael. My only feedback at this stage is to make sure that you are explaining everything in the detail a student would require to understand it e.g. you have given definitions of some things, but might like to consider giving more detailed explanations and examples.

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 I've added more detailed information to relevant implications and complex techniques, so could you see if this was what you were referring to?

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Refer to previous comment. This is just a reminder. If looking on emails, go to Github and under feedback section, there is a comment 4 days ago from this comments date. Also I have added some comments on classroom.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

The info is looking good. I presume at some point you are going to think about how the information is presented on the website and what would be most appropriate for the end users?

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Two general questions:

  1. What are the rules around attaching the NCEA standard on my website itself? I want to add it to my main page to show my end users what I am referring to with the website.
  2. Does my information need more detail to them? Does my website need more images? Could you have a look and give me some feedback around these?
shale4 commented 2 years ago

@Mick9105

  1. Anything you can find on the internet from NZQA you can attach to your website. Or you could provide links to the stuff on NZQA.
  2. I will have a look and get back to you - remind me if I don't!
Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Just letting you know that I did mess around with the code and it is overlapping the information. This is obviously on accident, and I will try to fix this and I will let you know when this is done.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

This is the kind of thing you should document as evidence of your trialing :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Fixed it! You can give me the feedback now. I also already documented this as evidence, but thanks for the suggestion.

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Just reminding you off the 1st of August comment on this section, because you asked to be reminded.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Some feedback:

Please bear in mind this is just my thinking as I flick through your website. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it, I am just trying to give you some things to consider :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 I have added the full bibliography with APA referencing and an additional table row where the link is on the main page of the website. Could you double check the bibliography to see if I have done this properly (just in case)?

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Yep I will have a look at the guide to remind myself what it should look like and then check it out for you :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Just reminding you that you were going to remind yourself of how APA referencing looks like, then double checking my reference table to see if I have missed anything.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Yep, will get onto it shortly - thanks for the reminder :)

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Can I have general feedback on my website again?

shale4 commented 2 years ago

What do you think?

Mick9105 commented 2 years ago

@shale4 Thank you for the feedback. I also got some feedback from Bri, so now I can start working on fixing up issues with the design of the website.

shale4 commented 2 years ago

Coolio - let me know if you need any more feedback :)
