Credentials do not persist between invocations of WAC #15

Windows Admin Center

Version 2103.2

Build 1.3.2105.24004

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Launch Windows Admin Center.
  2. Under All connections choose a server from the list.
  3. Click on "Manage as"
  4. Enter credentials for particular server.
  5. Log onto server and perform admin
  6. Leave Windows Admin Center and close browser
  7. Re-launch
  8. Entered credentials are reset

Expected behavior Manage as credentials should persist.

Hello @SeraphZA,

This is currently how Windows Admin Center functions, that is not a bug. We do have that feature in our backlog of work for the future. 😀

this is hugely inconvenient if you manage servers in more than one domain. Once, in distant past you could change credentials for a machine from fristdomain/domain_admin to seconddomain/domain_admin and the username was remembered between sessions (new sessions you only needed to reenter your password) now the user is always forgotten for all servers. If this is a design feature it is a very poor design

worth mentioning that back in the early days, when a local install (rather than a gateway install) worked, the manage as user did persist. This made it easy to manage machines in more than one domain so this is really a regression
