Server Storage Migration Service V2.6 does not display an option to Start Transfer #67

This issue is only happening after installing the latest version of WAC (2110)

when you get to the step Start the transfer in the Transfer Data stage you do not get presented with the Button to start the process.

if you roll back to the previous version of the Storage Migration Service there is no issue.

hi there, im facing the same issue. Did you manage to solve it? I notice from the screenshot, you managed to Start the transfer even without the Start Transfer button, how did you do it? thanks

To workaround the issue I uninstalled the Server Storage Migration Service V2.60. After doing that step I get the option in WAC to install the older Windows Server Migration Service 1.1392 This worked without any issues for me and allowed me to complete the transfer. I was unable to complete the wizard using the newer 2.60 version. Just make sure you turn off auto update and ignore any banners telling you there is a newer version available,

I am having the same issue and unfortunately the work around has been unsuccessful for me. I was wondering if anyone else has found another possible solution.

hi guys, update on this bug. The microsoft team has rolled out an update for the SMS extension. When you click on Storage Migration Service on WAC, you will see an Update is available for extension prompt. The latest version of extension should be version 2.6.1 Please go ahead and update it. Cheers.

Trying the 2.6.1 version and suddenly the phase details sections go missing after a few seconds...tried the usual "clear the browser..." event different systems....anyone else see this yet

I'm having the same problem with v2.6.1, the Phase Details section refreshes and disappears after a second or two. This is when using Edge or Chrome on the same computer as the one running SMS. Only workaround I've found is to use Chrome or Edge on another computer.

I'm having the same problem with v2.6.1, the Phase Details section refreshes and disappears after a second or two as OdieWanKenobi. I've tried different browsers on different computers.. no dice. You can get the error log but you have to do the clicking within those few seconds. And you may have to click on the transfer to see the details again while it's trying to download the log or you'll get an error saying it can't access. I have a lot of servers to convert... Hope there's an update soon to resolve this. Anyone else find any work arounds?

I was not able to find a resolution -- removing the 2.6.1 extension and reinstalling it did not help nor does it let you pull a previous release as a rollback option. I was able to migrate my last server that needed to be done through this path without an issue but monitoring it was a bit of a pain in the ...... I just did as Tims did and figured out how to click where I needed really really really fast. I ran this via Server 2019 -- if I had any more to do I might have tried this on v2022 and see if the results were any different.

I too have been having the same issue sumterclerk. On a saved job on a server we're not ready to migrate I've been doing a "Transfer differences" occasionally. If I click on the source "Phase details" displays for a second and disappears. I've tried everything listed to no avail. The only thing that works is uninstalling 2110 and re-installing 2103.

I've just found v2.6.2, has been released. I've found these two issues appear to be fixed:

the Phase Details pane doesn't refresh after 0.5 seconds, so you can click to download the log files at your leisure.
the log file downloaded on the first attempt.

The log file still took 8 minutes to be generated, although to be fair there were 2.6 million files for it to check - error log only listed 2 failures.
