I'm using TFS 2018, as i cannot find any instructions for splitting the collection in this version.
I've followed all the steps exactly for this article. I'm trying to split a Project collection into two which will reside on the same server (TFS) and the restored database is on the same server as the original. I'm getting an error stating that the "No attachable databases were found". I can see my original collection and have brought that one back online, but cannot see the extra one i created and restored on the SQL server.
I can connect to the new one of the SQL server instance with the same account that is running TFS, please help

I faced the same issue when restoring the new database directly from the old database. When restoring from the database backup file, the new and the old database are both displayed for attaching. Maybe this helps.
