TFS 2018 installation doesn't install by default under tfs application #24

Closed Styxxy closed 11 months ago

Styxxy commented 6 years ago

As of TFS 2018, the (default) installation doesn't create a (sub) appliction "TFS" in the Team Foundation Server website (IIS). Thus, the "/tfs" url segment isn't included anymore.

For supporting url's from the previous version, you'll need to use IIS Url Rewrite (2) module.

Did you upgrade or do a fresh installation? When I upgraded from 2017u3.1 to 2018u2, there was an opportunity to configure that. However, I don't recall whether the upgrade wizard retained the 2017u3.1 configuration by default.

@TASlavens We did a fresh install; but apparently you can configure it on install, however the default changed (which was a surprise for us).

Hi everyone, this was an old issue but it's gotten some attention recently. Reaching out to @aaronhallberg here. Aaron, do you think we should include the above information about the default installation changing, if so, where?
