Clarification needed in article abstract "High availability for Azure SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance" #105236

Closed lucabovo closed 1 year ago

Hi all, in the abstract of this article [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-sql/database/high-availability-sla?view=azuresql&tabs=azure-powershell] there's a statement about "Zone-redundant configuration": image

In the following chapters I found that this configuration is available also for Premium SKU: image

...and also for Hyperscale SKU: image

Can you please clarify and update the abstract statement accordingly to the content in the whole page?

Thanks for your cooperation and I take this opportunity to tell you that you are doing a great job with this documentation, which is very rich and detailed. Luca Bovo - beanTech

Hi @lucabovo , thanks for contacting Microsoft! Our apologies for the confusion, the introduction sentence is meant to imply that for Azure SQL Managed Instance, zone redundancy is currently in preview and only available in the Business Critical service tier, whereas for Azure SQL Database, it's available in the Premium service tier for DTU databases, and in both the General Purpose and Business Critical service tiers for vCore databases.

We're currently in the process of refreshing this content for better clarity so please stay tuned.

I'll go ahead and close out this Git Issue but please feel free to comment should you need anything further.

Thanks again for reaching out and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day! Masha from the SQL Docs team
