Azure CNI & Istio #113457

The docs state that Azure CNI is not compatible with Istio, however the github issue linked to has now been closed as resolved. Does this mean that Azure CNI now supports Istio, or is further enablement work needed now that GitHub issue is resolved.

Not compatible with Istio or other sidecar-based service meshes (Istio issue #27619).

Is Azure CNI powered by Cilium fully works with open source Istio or that functionality is only reserved for the official Azure Addon? If my customer goes in the route to deploy the open source Istio do Microsoft support help for any future interaction issues with ACPC and Istio?

@afscrome Thank you for the feedback! I reached out to the Istio PM and they said: "Yes all CNI options of AKS are compatible with Istio."
