Defender for DNS enablement #121076

Open applefacts opened 8 months ago

applefacts commented 8 months ago

The deprecated Defender for DNS plan shows this on the tooltip. "Applies to all Azure resources connected to the Azure default DNS resolvers."

As of August 1, customers with an existing subscription to Defender for DNS can continue to use the service, but new subscribers will receive alerts about suspicious DNS activity as part of Defender for Servers P2.

The enablement of Defender for Servers P2 implies only Azure server resources (VMs, Arc, etc).

Does that mean the new DNS plan only supports servers or did the deprecated plan only support servers in the past as well?

@applefacts can you please clarify the question? What needs to be added to the documentation?

applefacts commented 8 months ago

Hi @ElazarK I think I just need clarity that Defender for DNS supports all resources configured for Azure DNS servers because it moving to the Servers P2 plan implies only Servers are protected.
