feature request: add routing options and options for forcing the use of a specific integration runtime

Would it be possible to add information in this article about routing options for outbound traffic from synapse when using integration runtimes and how to force the use of the Self Hosted Integration Runtime instead of the Azure integration runtime?

Let me sketch my scenario and desired goal:

We are using Azure Synapse Analytics. We want to make sure that all inbound and outbound traffic travels through the Network Virtual Appliance (NVA) in Azure. Below are the details of our configuration:

• Azure Synapse Analytics is configured with a managed virtual network and public access is only allowed to the Azure Synapse studio from specific public IP addresses and trusted Azure services, like Azure DevOps.
• The Data Lake can only be accessed using private endpoints. We have configured managed private endpoints from Synapse to the DataLake storage.
• To access on-premises data sources from Synapse we have configured a self-hosted integration runtime that we use in linked services to access the data sources on-premises. We can route this traffic through the NVA.

Synapse is using Apache Spark pools for compute and SqlOnDemand for data storage.

Our challenge:

• We want to route all traffic in and out of Synapse through the NVA. So, either we want to:
  • Force usage of the self-hosted integration runtime for both public as internal data sources.
  • Make sure the default autoResolveIntegrationRuntime cannot be used, so only the self-hosted Runtime is available.
  • Route all traffic of the autoResolveIntegrationRuntime through the NVA.

Or should I submit a support request for this?
