@AlejoSQL Thanks for your question. We are checking on this and will respond to you soon.
@AlejoSQL May I know what exactly are you trying to perform (Can you bit elaborate more on this query)?
Hi @SumanthMarigowda-MSFT :
We have had multiple clients really wanting to understand the inner workings of Azure storage. We have been able to explain this for multiple other components (Azure SQL DW Gen 2, Azure Managed Instance, Hyperscale) , but storage has been really difficult and a blocker to get past RFP stage... We always get scored low there.
Also, because it helps us better and more confidently sell this to technical audiences.
@AlejoSQL I would recommend you to refer to the suggestion mentioned in this article: https://www.sigops.org/s/conferences/sosp/2011/current/2011-Cascais/printable/11-calder.pdf This would be really helpful and valid informations has been provided.
Hi @SumanthMarigowda-MSFT : I am aware of that content. My question was specifically if that content was/is still valid, considering it is from quite a few years ago. It is really paramount to have a clear understanding of the current internals of storage.
Thank you!
@AlejoSQL For more clarification on this query let me assign this to the content author
@AlejoSQL - The white paper you reference above is still valid in terms of the underlying architecture of Azure Storage, even though it's eight years old. Any enhancements to the underlying architecture are covered in our documentation.
@AlejoSQL - if you have specific questions about storage architecture, feel free to open another issue to ask them.
@AlejoSQL Since we have not heard back from you we will now proceed to close this thread. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please tag me in your reply. We will gladly reopen the issue and continue the discussion.
Hi all: Is this content still valid/not-outdated? https://www.sigops.org/s/conferences/sosp/2011/current/index.html This was a presentation by Brad Calder .
Thank you!
