@jkrysicki - Azure Databricks supports auto-start regardless of the client that connects to the cluster (PowerBI or other client). Azure Data Explorer does not support auto-start but it’s possible to define an automation that stops and start a cluster using Microsoft Flow or LogicApps.

I assume if Table Access Control and Can Attach To permissions are a applied the user cannot autostart a cluster from PowerBI...is there a solution for this?
Is there any option as in Azure Data Bricks to automatically start a cluster whenever there is a request from Power BI desktop to Get Data via DirectQuery?
