Are new SCOM 2019 Azure Monitor connections still possible? #40749

Could you please elaborate and clarify this statement:

"Recent changes to Azure APIs will prevent customers from being able to successfully configure integration between their management group and Azure Monitor for the first time. For customers who have already integrated their management group with the service, you are not impacted unless you need to reconfigure your existing connection. A new management pack has been released for the following versions of Operations Manager:

For System Center Operations Manager 2019, management pack is provided with the Operations Manager build."

Does this mean that new SCOM deployments cannot connect to Azure Monitor AT ALL? Or is there some procedure we must do such as updating the MP to get this to work? It's not very clear what's required. I'm attempting the connection with a new 2019 build and it fails to register. We do not have a proxy.

@MGoedtel can you please provide your inputs on this?

@davejdyer - It is my understanding that for OM 2019, it includes the updated Log Analytics MP, which supports the new Azure authentication API and should have no issue connecting to Azure Monitor Logs (i.e. Log Analytics). If you are having an issue, I would recommend opening a support case. If you have an earlier version of Operations Manager, then you would need to download the updated MP per the note. Hope that helps and I'll update that statement for OM 2019, as it was appended by the OM PG and could be better stated. #please-close.
