System requirement for DNN feature #61619

Closed kazshi closed 4 years ago

kazshi commented 4 years ago

In the Configure connectivity section, it says "...if you're using SQL Server 2019 and Windows Server 2019...", but the following DNN page (linked from this page) says "This feature is currently in preview and is available only for SQL Server 2019 CU2 and later and Windows Server 2016 and later." Which is correct?

Configure distributed network name (DNN) - SQL Server on Azure VM | Microsoft Docs https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-sql/virtual-machines/windows/hadr-distributed-network-name-dnn-configure

@kazshi Thank you for sharing your query! We are currently investigating and will get back to you shortly on this.

Hi @kazshi, thanks for contacting Microsoft! My apologies for the typo, you are correct, the DNN feature is supported on Windows 2016. When it was first released it was restricted to Win 2019 for a month due to testing and this is a leftover byproduct of that. I have processed a change and the doc will reflect correctly later today.

I'll go ahead and close out this Git Issue, but please feel free to comment should you need anything further.

Thanks again for improving our documentation and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Masha from the SQL Docs team
