It's not for an Azure Virtual Desktop to say whether this scenario is allowed outside of Azure Virtual Desktop. The articles for Azure Virtual Desktop have that focus only. It would be better to reach out to your licensing representative.
This took 1+ year to turn around. By now W10/11 multi-session is supported outside of Azure particularly or specifically to run on Azure Stack HCI for AVD. Can this be updated in this page?
Can I run Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session on-premises? Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session can't run in on-premises production environments because it's optimized for the Azure Virtual Desktop service for Azure. It's against the licensing agreement to run Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session outside of Azure for production purposes. Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session won't activate against on-premises Key Management Services (KMS).
[Enter feedback here] Can someone add a statement or clarification in this page if W10 MS running in Azure VM is supported -assuming Licensing entitlement is covered- IF not used with Virtual Desktop Service? It is technically possible to use W10 MS as a standalone IaaS VM in Azure and let multiple users connect directly outside of WVD control plane. Thanks
