Azure documentation issue guidance

Creating an issue

We want to contribute to Microsoft Docs to create new articles and this issue is to describe what we want to contribute.

DandelionWenjing commented 6 years ago

We'd like to work on the solution template by industry and want to focus on IoT technology area. The template scenario will come from a real customer. This article will introduce the following points: 1 Scenario background 2 Which industry they belong to 3 What problem they want to solve 4 Architecture 5 Technology introduction in detail 6 Code github address

@DandelionWenjing Thanks for your comment and request to contribute to Microsoft docs. I have engaged the content team to review and determine next best step. Please stay tuned.

@DandelionWenjing Thanks for following the steps @ https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/contribute/ and creating an issue to start the conversation!

@tysonn / @timlt Can you take a look and proceed with this as appropriate.

ghost commented 6 years ago

@timlt @kgremban @philmea - Could you all take a look at this doc-idea issue?

ghost commented 6 years ago

@bennage - FYI

kgremban commented 6 years ago

@DandelionWenjing Can you be more specific about what you want to document? What scenarios do you think need to be covered, and for what industries?

bennage commented 6 years ago

Some IoT architectural content is being worked on. It will cover a one or two common IoT scenarios and include a reference implementation. //cc @MikeWasson @dragon119 can you elaborate?

dragon119 commented 6 years ago

We're working on IoT reference implementations. The scenario is similar to the connected car ('Drones' send location, drivetrain metrics, environment status and other sensor data). Our RI demonstrates most of Azure IoT related services such as IoT Hub, IoT Edge, ASA/DataBricks, CosmosDB, Blob, HDI, PowerBI, and Azure Dashboard with some OSS equivalents such as Cassandra, Prometheus, Grafana etc. ML is out of scope at this moment. The challenges and solutions that we implement in the RI are based on AzureCAT customer engagements.

kgremban commented 6 years ago

Hi @dragon119. I agree with you that this is important content to include in the Azure Maps documentation. I've added this suggestion to our team's work items, and will ask to close this issue for now. I've made a note to reopen this issue once we start work on the new content.

@femsulu can you #please-close this issue?

Much delayed reply, but sharing a link to this tutorial which was published early 2019 to provide an industry example of device location mapping: https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/azure-maps/tutorial-iot-hub-maps
