@Kirbogd Thanks for your feedback! We will investigate and update as appropriate.
@Kirbogd If your referring to Step5 of Publish the RD host endpoint section then steps mentioned are correct and aligned with Azure Portal.
Hi Mohit. We have just gone through this process with my customer: the homepage setting in properties is grayed out and can’t be modified. One can change the internal url in app proxy properties of the app, but it will change published scope as well. So we were able to accomplish the step only setting the homepage via powershell (as it is depicted in “customize homepage” article of app proxy documentation). May be some differences in portal version? I will make screen shots of the experience and share with you.
With best regards,
Kirill Bogdanov

Hi Mohit See attached: App proxy app properties blade: [cid:image002.png@01D3D30A.A433FAC0]
If we switch into application proxy blade of app, there is no setting for homepage. Only internal URI. And if we append RDweb to it, we will prevent user from accessing rdgateway endpoint as it is not in the rdweb virtual directory and app proxy would prevent user from escaping to uplevel virtual directory [cid:image006.png@01D3D30A.A433FAC0]

@Kirbogd Thanks for details. I have assigned the issue to the document author to investigate and update as appropriate.
@MicrosoftDocs/azure-cxp-triage This issue should be assigned to @MarkusVi. I'm no longer the author for the Azure AD App space.
@MicrosoftDocs/azure-cxp-triage, This issue is actually on a page the @billmath should work on. Please assign it to him. Thanks.
@Kirbogd Thank you for this information. I have created a backlog work item to address this. Unfortunately I do not have an ETA on when this will be available. I re-open and update this issue once it is updated. Thank you!
The instruction uses outdated version of portal: an ablity to set homepage URL in App Proxy app was removed from portal. One has to set it via AzureAD powershell https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/application-proxy-office365-app-launcher
