Workspace based application insights does not allow function parameters

I would like to create functions to visualize my data of application insights in workbooks (with parameters) This is currently not possible, because log analytics does not allow parameters for Application insights (even if the app insights has been created workspace based)

The options are just missing, so I can only give the function a name.
