Worker nodes cannot be scaled down "using the slider"

So - how can they be scaled down? Presumably if you're being specific about the slider then there is a way?

I confirmed that the feature of decreasing the number of Hyperscale (Citus) worker nodes is not available through the Azure portal. In exceptional situations, we could do this via a support request. Normally compute and storage scaling is infrequent, and scaling nodes is even less frequent.
