Is it possible to transform real time data which is exposed via stream analytics to power bi?

The functionality is greyed out in my Power BI desktop UI but I can't find any limitations in the documentation.

@Ronelius

Is it possible to transform real time data which is exposed via stream analytics to power bi?

Could you please explain your query bit more to understand better?

Are you looking to transform the data from PowerBI which is already exposed via stream analytics?

Stream Analytics and Power BI: A real-time analytics dashboard for streaming data

AFAIK there are no limitations.

The functionality is greyed out in my Power BI desktop UI but I can't find any limitations in the documentation.

Could you please share screenshot of the issue?

Hi!

When using the real-time analytics dashboard, I can't offer interactive filtering to the end-user right? I'm working on an IoT scenario and would for example filter my live-data by device and by sensor with a data slicer.

So I tried to use a report instead, but I could not find a way to transform the dataset in PowerBI.
So for example changing column types, calculating new fields etc... Should that be possible with this approach?

@Ronelius That's correct. You will not be able to filter when the data loads. Instead you can write the stream analytics queries as per your requirements and send data to PowerBI for visualization.

We try to reserve these issues for feedback directly related to the tutorials: like if there are errors that block tutorial completion or if there are updates/changes required, suggestions for improvement, etc. If this is not the case I would suggest you open an issue with your question on the Microsoft QnA or StackOverflow forums where there is a community that can help (plus the engineering team)
