What is Discovery? | Microsoft Learn
Typos and recommendation(s):
"the system first intakes known assets (i.e. “seeds”) that are recursively scanned to discover additional entities through their connections to a seed."
Does this mean: connections to ANOTHER seed? Or to “any other”? Or is it referring to the known assets in which case it would be “the seed” (as in the same seed that was referenced in the first part of the sentence)?
AND
"...directly connected to the seed, and then identifying all the things related to each of the things in the first set of connections"
ideally either drops the "and then" (keep “identifying”) or change the word to "identifies"
AND
On this page Understanding inventory assets | Microsoft Learn
I suggest it would be easier to read if you change “then surfacing” to “then surfaces” (or delete “then” and leave surfacing…) “Microsoft Defender External Attack Surface Management (Defender EASM) actively discovers and monitors these assets, then surfacing key insights that help customers efficiently address any vulnerabilities to their organization.”
AND
awkward sentence construction with the commas, clarify: “Separate Discovery groups allow users to automate the discovery process, configuring the seed list and recurrent run schedule.” //
maybe a typo if it meant "configure" rather than "by configuring" (which is implied). / i.e., does it mean that automating the discovery process configs the seed list and recurrent run schedule as an aspect of itself? If so then it could say, "…process, which configures…” or does it mean to provide a list of things users can do (automate, configure)? If the latter, the rest of the sentence needs to change.
But otherwise it's really well written :-)
