Monday when I woke my Lenovo laptop, I was immediately accosted by an Oops blue screen and informed my device would restart. When it did, my customary login screen—option to log in with a fingerprint or PIN—was replaced by an Outlook email address username with no option to select another username. Not recalling my password (I never use Outlook), I set about trying to reset it.
Microsoft is useless. Their reset form tells me I haven't provided them enough information to prove my identity. They want the last four digits of the credit card I used to purchase one of their products. That was eight months ago; my debit card was replaced with a new one. I called a Microsoft number and got a recording that directed me to the same link at which I failed to reset my password.
Lenovo tells me they can set my device to its out of the box setting, which means I'll lose some content from my hard drive. Fortunately, I have most of it backed up to a flash drive.
Is there any other workaround/resolution to this dilemma? I'm at a point where I will never again purchase another Microsoft device. Their customer service lacks any helpful "service."
Thanks.
