Anonymous joins meeting after app shared to stage error #9984

Open Hans-Zietsman opened 10 months ago

Hans-Zietsman commented 10 months ago

When an anonymous user joins a Teams meeting when an app has already been shared to the meeting stage, that anonymous user receives an error message instead of the app content. The presenter has to re-share the app to stage for the content to be visible to the late comer. This is very disrupting to all other attendees as the page refreshes [Enter feedback here]

Hi

Please follow these steps to reproduce the error:

  1. Start meeting
  2. Add a 3p app to meeting
  3. Share app to stage
  4. After successfully sharing the app to stage, In an incognito/private window join the meeting as an anonymous user
  5. Note the error message
  6. As host , reshare to the stage (“and disrupt everyone else in the meeting”) to remove the error for late user Here is a recording linkhttps://share.cleanshot.com/cc6R5f27 of the same

I have linked [?zip icon] the network HAR logshttps://kunjanico0-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/hans_kunjani_co/EReEcv6VatRMpDMeIFRSoUABX7jcAnwCsiT0V9KanZWmDw?e=XuaOW7 for the same but I trust you will be able to repo the issue and collect any necessary logs

Regards

@Hans-Zietsman -We got the reply from engineering team that, This is by design. The Teams web accessed by anon user is in Angular Teams. We do not support apps for anon users in angular Teams.

Hi

This is false information/ feedback. 3P apps are supported for annon users (Other than several other bugs I have reported). It works fine for the annon user if the app is shared to stage after the annon user has joined the meeting. The bug I am reporting is when an annon user joins a meeting after app content has already been shared to stage resulting in an error message and a disruption to all user types as content has to be reshared and reloaded for everyone.

It would be appreciated if the engineering team took the time to understand the issue reported and review the supplied logs and recording.

Regards
