@InvisibleProgrammer can you share your .bashrc
? How did you go about duplicating the tab (keybinding, command palette, the tab menu)?
@zadjii-msft : Sure.
I've tried it both with .bashrc and .bash_profile (as the documentation says). It still does nothing, just opens a duplicate tab/pane on the same directory.
It is basically the default file right after the installation, with added that only extra file that the documentation suggests:
# ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for non-login shells.
# see /usr/share/doc/bash/examples/startup-files (in the package bash-doc)
# for examples
# If not running interactively, don't do anything

@zadjii-msft : I've found the solution in an older issue: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/3158#issuecomment-1374053822
It seems the default installation starts ubuntu.exe. And after changing it to wsl.exe -d Ubuntu
it works.
One extra thing it is worth changing the starting directory as well to ~
.
Thank you, Zsolt
Ah! That makes sense. You're seeing https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/12961. Thanks for following up!
I have tried the tutorial both with bash and zsh - and they do nothing.
Starting directory is on default.
Is there any way to make it work?
