Important information on Hyper V networking is missing

I have found almost no documentation on Hyper V which helps with VLANs. Typically, it is not difficult to setup something to use an untagged VLAN. Hyper-V is the complete opposite. Without setting up any VLAN information on a VM net adapter, network communication FAILS (External Switch, with OS management turned on).

I tried setting the VM net adapter to Access for 0, that also FAILED.

This also failed: " Get-VM "Sauron" | Set-VMNetworkAdapterVlan -Untagged"

What worked was setting a TRUNK, with native vlan of 0. I also enabled 1-4094 for vlan traffic.

None of this makes any sense. Maybe it would if someone took the time to explain Hyper-Vs implementation of VLANs.
