The article at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/origin-trials/ explains the steps to enroll an origin trial as follows:

  1. Go to Microsoft Edge Origin Trials Developer Console.
  2. Click the Register button on any of the available experiments.
  3. Sign in to the Developer Console using your GitHub username and password.
  4. Click Authorize MicrosoftEdge.

Later it says:

A token is instantly generated and displayed on the Microsoft Edge Origin Trials Developer Console.

I am trying to enroll for WebSQL origin trial.

In step 1, the developer console URL redirects to https://microsoftedge.github.io/MSEdgeExplainers/origin-trials/.

In step 2, the register button in the second page opens a form. But there is no option to sign in to the Developer Console. Filling an submitting the form does not generate a token instantly.

Has the method to apply for the token changed? What is the fastest way to get a token for origin trial?

@ajitk - the most up-to-date webpage about the process is https://microsoftedge.github.io/MSEdgeExplainers/origin-trials/ which says: "Follow the prompts in the registration form and we'll send you a valid token to use on your site."

Were you sent a token?

ajitk commented 10 months ago

I haven't received a token yet. It has been more than 30 days since I submitted the form.

@ajitk thanks for the reply. Can you submit a new request using the following link? https://microsoftedge.github.io/MSEdgeExplainers/origin-trials/

Thanks for the note. I have submitted another request for WebSQL. What is the usual time taken to issue and email the token?

Another point to note that it is for an extension that is using WebSQL as the store.

Hi @ajitk - I believe the token was sent to you. I'll go ahead and close this issue. Thanks.
