Pipeline Azure Devops: This task is no longer installed, install the task or remove... #111

Closed ReverendoSantiago closed 4 years ago

ReverendoSantiago commented 4 years ago

Hi, we are experiencing a problem: from Azure Devops pipeline, we can´t make the job. We are getting the message: "this task is no longer installed, install the task or remove..." We can´t pass this analysis. Can you help us please? Thank you.

ReneSchumacher commented 4 years ago

Hi @ReverendoSantiago,

what task are you talking about? Did it work before? And if so, when did it start to fail? Can you post the pipeline log here or send it to PSGerExtSupport@Microsoft.com?

Thanks René

ReverendoSantiago commented 4 years ago

Hi. The task i mentioned is Check build quality. It shows a message that says: “This task is no longer installed. Reinstall the task or remove..” [cid:image001.jpg@01D6640E.B0BDB230]

The task was working great. But suddenly, it started to fail. As you can see, Azure Devops says that it´s not installed. We reinstalled the task, but no works. Can you tell us about this issue please? Thank you very much. Hi again,

unfortunately, screenshots aren't displayed in GitHub. Could you post directly in GitHub and not through an email reply?

You said it worked before: when was the last time it worked properly? It also would be great if you sent the log files for the last working pipeline run and one of the failed pipeline runs.

Thanks, René

ReneSchumacher commented 4 years ago

One more thing: are you using Azure DevOps Services (cloud) or Azure DevOps Server (on-prem)?

ReverendoSantiago commented 4 years ago

Hi again: It worked about 10 days ago. Now it´s not working anymore. It seems to me that perhaps it´s a bad update or something like this. I cant execute the pipeline if I no deactivate the task. So I can´t get Access to a fail log. Thank you. Thanks for the log from the working build. I can see that v7.3.0 worked for you. There have been a couple updates since then (the first was on July 12). Perhaps something went wrong with the automatic update process as you mentioned.

Could you please open the following URI (replace {organization} with your org name) and post the JSON output?

Hmm, this looks okay. According to the extension data the task is installed correctly.

The error occurs when you try to queue a new run? Or after the run has been queued? And it does explicitly list the Build Quality Checks task? If so, I'd recommend opening a support ticket with Azure DevOps as from our side everything looks good. Since I'm not part of the Azure DevOps product group, I cannot look at internal debug information :(

Really I have no errors. You see: I deactivated the task because it says: “it is not installed” but its installed in fact. So I am not able to exec the task. So I must have it disabled in order to pass compilation Jobs.

I had a meet with Microsoft before tell you about the issue, but Microsoft told me that I must contact with you in order to solve it. Thank you again. Regards! Did you receive a support ticket number? If so, please send it to me via email at PSGerExtSupport@microsoft.com. I can then look into the ticket and contact the support engineer to look into the issue.

I think is it: RE: 120072225002016 Task group fails Build Quality Checks

ReneSchumacher commented 4 years ago

Yes, that's it. I'll see what I can do.

ReneSchumacher commented 4 years ago

Hi @ReverendoSantiago,

sorry for the delay, I only just had time to look into the support case. Unfortunately, it doesn't contain much information about what our support engineer did to analyze the issue. I can only see that you had a screen sharing session. Since the case has information about your Azure DevOps organization, though, I will try to reach someone from the product group who might be able to check some internal states in the Azure DevOps backend for your org. Perhaps they can see an issue here.

Btw: your support case mentions that you are using the BQC task as part of a task group. Have you tried using it outside a task group? Imho, the task group itself shouldn't have any impact on the task, but it's always safer to test such things than just make assumptions ;-)

Hi @ReverendoSantiago,

I haven't received any feedback yet. Have you resolved the issue yourself or do you need additional help?

René

ReneSchumacher commented 4 years ago

As there was no feedback for this over the last three weeks, I'm closing this issue now. Please feel free to add additional comments or open a new issue as needed.
