First, let me just say this is not really an issue, this Is an issue only because I don't know how to use this. The only reason I'm doing a Hackintosh is that my logbook only runs on macOS and I don't want to spend all that money on a product I'm only going to be using one app on.

my problem, I'm trying to install the latest version of macOS Catalina on a Ryzentosh build, but I can't get through the installer because it does not see my Lan Internet. and I'm being told I need this driver.

I'm using Opencore and when I'm configuring my config.plist you normally have your RealtekRTL8111.kext file in the Kexts folder. and then do an OC snapshot. then It shows up under kernel #4 in the .plist. when I take "LucyRTL8125Ethernet" folder (which I assume is the driver folder) and do the same operation it does not show in my .plist. my motherboard is a MSI MEG x570 Unify.

again let me just say I have no education as a programmer or any computer science. I would highly appreciate some help to get this resolved.

If you downloaded from here(github), it's the source code. You should get the compiled version and put the kext alone at OC/Kexts. And you shouldn't use RealtekRTL8111.kext. TL;DR :

  1. Get the kext here-https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343542-lucyrtl8125ethernetkext-for-realtek-rtl8125/
  2. Put this in OC/Kexts.
  3. Delete RealtekRTL8111.kext.
  4. Done! Reconfigure config.plist. P.S.: The kext itself is a folder on Windows/Linux.

I'm not a full service provider and I don't have time to take care of trivial questions like that. If you need help, please post in the corresponding thread of the insanelymac.com forum.
