[Blogs] ACP for Blogs doesn't make sense #23

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see?? Config one, config two?

Same opinion as Guestbooks. Do away with users being able to allow ALL to reply to blogs and no ACP options are really needed.

I might change my opinion. I have been messing with blogs today and I discovered a thing or two.

  1. If the option to let ALL reply is left in, it should be an option in the ACP to over ride user settings and set a default to something Like "Registered".
  2. I discovered today that a user can create as many blogs as they wish. That should not be an option. 1 blog per user should suffice. So can that be fixed or should it be an option for allow X amount of blogs per user?

All in all, this can all be solved with code without giving ACP options I am willing to bet, but if it is wished to leave the options to admins, then ACP will be necessary.

I can't think of many use-cases where you want more than a blog per user. But it might not be too hard to support either.

Guestbook was a very basic example to display the "power" of plugins... We can improve it if you wish, but I wouldn't waste too much time on this plugins as it seems that no one will be using it. :-)

Maybe better focusing on the blog plugins, which may be more appealing... what do you think?

On every site I have ever belonged to, rarely to never did anyone use a guestbook or did anyone "Sign" them.

On many more sites back in the day, blogs were used extensively. I would vote for spending more time on Blogs than guest book. My opinion is biased though. I wait with bated breath for it to get fixed so I can use it :-D So please take my opinion for what it is worth.
