disappearing robot? #2150

Are robots expected to disappear if the chunk they're in unloads? I left my miner busily working away (not for the first time), and came back to find no further work done, but more puzzling, no miner. I can't find any trace of the thing, after digging around anywhere it could have gotten to. I'm running 1.10.2 with Forge 2151 and OC 1.6.0.4.

Hello, I'm facing the same issue. I have a robot programmed to create a wither, with soul sand and skulls. It works really well, but in two occasions I had come back to the wither farm and no robot anywhere... Just happened right now... the weirdest part is that I found (in the vacuum chest) some soul sand and skulls that are not supposed to be there...(I guess the robot blows for some reason, maybe not escaping the wither blow in time... but the latter had been tested and should not happen unless the robot get stuck for whatever reason) any way to trace the robot fate in some log or file in the save dir?

Versions : MC 1.10.2, OpenComputers-MC1.10.2-1.6.2.7, forge-1.10.2-12.18.3.2254, OptiFine_1.10.2_HD_U_D7, Draconic-Evolution-1.10.2-2.0.10.199-universal (the latter is the reason why I need tons of nether stars and the mob grinder block it's what is used to kill the monster, maybe it get confused and kill the robot also, but again, I tested this before and works fine, I have been able to get more than 200 nether stars with this setup)

Ah.... forgot to mention, the spot is chunkloaded with ChickenChunks-1.10.2-2.2.0.52-universal....

I'm having this issue consistently in one specific room, the robot assigned to farm in that room just keeps disappearing while I'm offline, and I have to replace it with a new one. It's an enclosed room in my base, no possible dangers, or places for it to go.

hey that's super interesting! tell me more!

  1. what OC version? what MC version?
  2. repro frequency?
  3. do you host the server? can you get a full server dir tarball and send it to me privately? (share a download link with me via discord or irc, or ping me for a upload folder [i can make one for you])
  4. what mods/modpack are you using

  1. MC 1.12.2, OC 1.7.5
  2. This is the third robot in the last few days to disappear in this one room, other robots in adjacent rooms never did this.
  3. I do and I can, I'll probably hop on the discord after I get it uploaded somewhere.
  4. Mainly Immersive engineering, thaumcraft, minecolonies, and a few minor ones.

I no longer think it's location based, I just had it happen while I was in the room. I wasn't watching it so I didn't see exactly what happened, but it was working on a field of immersive engineering hemp, and it just disappeared, but it left the floppy disk that was in it on the ground. That's the only room with that crop so I'm thinking it may be related to the hemp. It seems like something (maybe the bot itself?) broke the bot dropping the floppy. There wasn't anything in the room but me and the bot itself.

Any hints on what I should do or where I should go to detect the repro? What room? After you created the backup, did this happen again? Where/which robot?

The room is at XYZ: 89, 60, 159. The bottom floor of the tower. I placed a robot in the correct place before making the backup, and there should be a floppy in the chest by the door, turn on the robot, and insert the floppy and it should automatically run the program that was resulting in the disappearances.

I suspected it was the hemp that was causing the problem, so I removed that for some wheat in that room, but later had another robot disappear in the room next door with the nether wart and such, and I didn't see what crop it was on when that one disappeared.

Oh, I didn't realize until after I made that backup, I put a whitelist on the server so you may have to mess with that if you have trouble getting it to work. What Discord server did you mean btw? I didn't see you on the minecraft computer mods one and I couldn't find any other related servers.
