This issue comes from MESCC, the Small-C compiler I use.
Anyway the "-" character is illegal for filenames according to the CP/M standard rules and the CCP doesn't like it (neither the "_" character I use in nearly every file I write!).
So, I take note and will add it as a legal character in MESCC file library.

I get error message if I try to open a file with a dash in file name.
the - dash character is valid in cp/m file names
