ASL Gloss, needs underlines under the gloss. #1

As an ASL signer, I find this plugin amazing. However, I feel it is missing one feature. In ASL gloss, it's typical to underline phrases to mark the topic, or directionality or intensity. Is there a way to underline sections of the gloss and mark markers beside the words? Thank you.

Can you give me examples of what it should look like? I can see about implementing it then, doesn't sound too hard.

After looking further into it, at the moment I can't see a way to implement this in a way that I'm completely satisfied with. So it may take some time.
