just remember to keep an Android around though for the dark tasks of openpgp authentication subkeys and offline music and custom ringtones and XMPP also on iOS I am unhappy with App Store being incompatible with GPL and there not being a single place to find OSS apps (F-Droid) in addition to what I said before, but it's also nice that everything just works without waiting (that is what you get with 60 € phone and 1 GB RAM -.-) and I like being able to use an app from my main bank which gives me push notifications when I use their payment cards while on Android it's very sensitive about anything that distantly says "advanced user" -.- iOS keyboards also hate you if you speak more than two languages and the XMPP situation is worse than people say

Siri issues:

Bluetooth battery level:

• Android: shown next to the Bluetooth icon on status bar
• iPhone: requires enabling the Batteries widget and it's shown in it in the separate widget screen user error shows in widget explicitly with a number and shows next to BT symbol like Android
• Windows 10: hidden very well to settings

I guess I would like to have merger of iPhone and Android in this department, I like how explicit the battery percentage is, but I wish I saw it at a glance like with Android. user error Offtopic for this post candidate, but my BT headset require volume 4 % in Windows for anything to be heard through them.

iOS 14 breaks the Bluetooth battery widget now showing unhelpful battery circles that I cannot read, I how they will restore percentages for stable release.

Encrypted DNS, while possible without a VPN in iOS 14 beta, requires a custom app and as far as I can see, the only option is NextDNS Testflight or DNS profile https://encrypted-dns.party/. I wish I could Android style just enter a custom DoT address without installing apps and why not DoH too which is going to help with public networks.

I fear that small or nonprofit providers may not pay to get themselves listed on App Store or become paid/premium services and judging by needing an app, iOS likely doesn't do opportunistic mode with DoT, which is the only reason I prefer it over DoH in theory (while DoH seems to be OS specific whitelists)

Resolved comment above: iOS 14 changes my home workflow a lot.

Previously: reset home screen to defaults after installing any app so everything stays mostly alphabetical except that Apple apps are in front.

Now:

1. Enable new apps to only be added to app library
2. Long press empty space
3. Press the app pages thing
4. Uncheck other than the first app page (cannot be unchecked)
5. Customize the first page if desired, swipe left for the old widget screen and right for the app library
6. In the widget screen remove the Battery widget and add it again to be prompted for small/medium/large with small having the unhelpful circles, medium bringing battery percentages and large being the old one including device names.

Battery sometimes empties overnight with just bluetooth enabled and the battery saver feature is disappointing when you don't have a charger or trustable electricity for days. Another blog idea?

iPhone SE2020 (and iPhone 6S) freeze in -12 C temperature in pocket (a report I heard says -5 C is enough to put it in "Finland mode"), while equally low battery Nokia 1 (TA-1047) manages to have the phone call and last enough to get plugged into a charger.

Success: when I enable assessibility features on iPhone, they stay enabled until I disable them. When I enable them on Android, they will get randomly disabled or if not otherwise, then when I manually reboot.

Main issue: disable animations.
