A hypothetical case of a boiler needing more water could manifest as a reactor full of both sodium and superheated sodium. The level of sodium is irrelevant if the superheated sodium is full, so waiting for a coolant level low alarm is not the right choice. In a sodium setup, 100% heated coolant should also be a trip condition.
