Note taken directly from something I posted: «Btw, anyone running a Matrix room, I highly recommend you fully control any IRC where you bridge, as any channel Operator could decimate your room in a single blow, kickbanning almost everyone, except maybe Admin's PL100. Maybe no big deal on IRC, but it could do long term damage to a Matrix community, even after you sever the bridge/link, and manually re-invite hundreds of users. Will they accept? I had it happen just with the monthly PIA-Freenode purges. One rejoined, asking „WTF?!?!„, and I had to explain the bullshit.»

hey guys. how do i kick appservice irc bot from my own room? it has admin priveleges so i couldn't just kick it. i removed link to an irc chat since i'm getting this error: @appservice-irc:matrix.org kicked SOME_USERNAME. Reason: Connection limit reached for chat.freenode.net. Please try again later.

but appservice bot still in the room and still kicking my friend i'm trying to invite

this bot also kicking my friends due to their inactivity for specific period. i just want to get rid of this bot but don't see how i could do so

It has been seen before that the 'bot will not /deop, nor leave, and even continue to do undesired things after delinking the bridge!

I had to explain that PIA-Freenode compelled such purges. If you want to explain to every user about their network load, I'll send them to you individually. I'm giving Matrix room Admin's the info' they need before manually bridging. IRCOp's think Matrix is nothing more than a Bouncer. Maybe if they understood "\store & forward\" like VoIP, and not just "\Fire & Forget\" like XMPP & IRC, and that Matrix has text/voice/video capability like VoIP, they would have a broader picture. But PIA-Freenode called for he purges, and reguardless of reason, they "\own\" them.

Ftr, the things foisted upon Matrix room Admin's and their room members, such as \"Op's Sync'ing" seem perfectly fine for a \"Portal Room\" [insert link], but NOT a \"Plumbed Room\". It is a pity the developers are unable to distinguish between the two distinct use cases, telling end users to run their own bridge."
