Ethernet Connection #44

Just as a question for a feature or for some help ...

I've got no WIFI. Neither a Handy and no WIFI on my desktop computer. The connection possibilitites I have are either Ethernet (RJ45) or USB (only via cable).

Is there a way, to get the firmware working without WIFI ?

I know, an important part of the firmware is the internal web server, so for me it seems that ethernet is the only option. The problem is with the TeamGloomy Configurator, that there is no option to select Ethernet and there are no boards with ethernet connection as a choice. How could I configure the firmware to supporrt it? (I know, there is also a Duet Ethernet version, but I can't find it.)

Another possibility could be, to connet the Milo 1.5 over USB and have the CNC software on a Laptop or on a Raspberry Pi connected to it. Are there any suggestions? Can the Milo be operated just as a 3D printer over USB?

You can try using SBC mode with RepRapFirmware, that runs a software framework on a Raspberry Pi and connects to the mainboard (you can think of this as vaguely similar to how Klipper works).

That said, our configs and MillenniumOS are not designed or tested to work on RRF in SBC mode so you would be on your own with getting that up and running.
