As title states. .pit extension is used in Fagor CNC lathe and mill simulators, to denote that you are writing for the 8055 model, so the simulator can transparently convert the minor differences from 8070 to 8055.
EDIT: Also, asides the .pit, I'd like to ask to add .pim, for the mill. We've started with the mill side of things and they use different extensions.
