@MindShow I finally received your email, but unfortunately, I am not able to install the 64-bit driver as the module was compiled I am getting this error: insmod: ERROR: could not load module evdi.ko: No such file or directory

I think it is due to the module being compiled using a different Linux kernel version (v5.11.0-34-generic) while the kernel I am using is 5.15.0-47-generic. I would appreciate if you can send me a compiled module using 5.15.0-47, else I would appreciate if you could share the source file so that I can compile this at my end.

Cheers

OmegaGamage commented 1 year ago

@MindShow , @raheelhirani35 , @Nilzkool

Would you please send me the driver ?

bemfica commented 1 year ago

@MindShow no further plans for a Linux version? There are already MacOS and Android versions, which use similar bases, so why not one for Linux distros?

denis-or commented 1 year ago

Hello @MindShow, Would you please send me the driver too?

bemfica commented 1 year ago

Hi Denis, he sent me the driver. If you need it, I can forward it. But there are some limitations: the 64 bits version only works on kernel 5.11.0.36, if I remember correctly. The 32 bit, although seems to have been compiled more recently, works only with an even older kernel. I didn't get them to work with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS even after downgrading the kernel, but IMMV.

Hi. I already bought the adapter. Works on windows, but not linux mint. I'm on linux mint version 20.4 and kernel 5.4 (i guess). I would appreciate it if you could email me for test. (catoper@gmail.com). Thank you very much

bemfica commented 1 year ago

Not sure it'll show in GitHub since I'm replying via email, but both versions are attached. To upgrade/downgrade kernels, use Ubuntu Mainline Kernel Installer, easy to find the repo on Google. To check the exact Kernel version needed, use modinfo on terminal pointed to the .ko file. To check your kernel version, use uname -r on terminal. To install the driver, use sudo insmod pointed to the .ko file If after installing and rebooting you end up with no graphic interface, jump to a terminal and sudo modprobe -r evdi.ko or sudo rmmod evdi.ko - perhaps you'll need to point the system folder where kernel modules are installed, can't remember the path right now but Google answers this easily. Considering Mint is Ubuntu-based and behaves similarly, you'll probably boot to a black screen with blinking underscore if the module fails. Use Ctrl+Shift+F1 or Ctrl+Shift+F3, depending on your login display manager, and you'll get to the terminal asking for username and password. If the terminal times out and gets back to black screen with blinking underscore, just run the key combo again and it'll resume.

Hi, can someone please send me the driver? "sarcinellirenan@gmail.com". Thanks in advance

bemfica commented 1 year ago

Been getting lots of requests for this, decided to make it easier for everyone (including me) Files are here: bit [DOT] ly [SLASH] 3kZZTYJ Word to the wise, though: don't bother if it doesn't work for you. Just return it and get a DisplayLink adapter, it'll cost around 2.5 times the price of this one, but works perfectly. I'm running a triple-screen setup on Ubuntu now (laptop + native HDMI + USB adapter) and image quality is better than when I had just the laptop's screen and native HDMI. Just installed the kernel module from the official site and rebooted. No headaches, it just works.

Any forecast for a driver compatible with Linux Ubuntu 22.04 or its derivatives?
