Nests for corpse weepers #132

Is your feature request related to a problem?

A 'mini dungeon' (as kasai called it) it is a nest about 3 blocks wide and long and 1 block high. spawns in set locations periodically. It is actually a loot crate and when opened draws adult corpse weepers near (spawns em) and the more loot the player takes out the higher the chance of spawning a mini boss called mother corpse weeper which is just a stronger one to protect the nest. The nest disappears after closing or exciting its gui.

Describe the solution you'd like.

Spawns- Certain locations need to be picked out so that the nests are obvious. Similar to how in episode 5 the nest was on a natural pillar.

Describe alternatives you've considered.

Loot pool- sticks, bones, delver drops (armor/tools/weapons/rare chance for relic), egg shells, shed feathers, slight chance of gold nuggets. Birds like shiny things. [adventure specific- hatchable egg, taking instantly spawns mother]

These would be great for trying to grind to eventually get relics but isn't worth it if trying to get high grade relics. With these being spread out in l2 and disappear after closing, I doubt they can be abused and they would be a fine addition. Kasai also seemed very interested in this so I know it's a good idea. unknown-7 unknown-6 unknown-5 unknown-4 unknown

(Yes I am the Kasai mentioned in the suggestion) Helps to improve mob spawns, as the general system has low spawn rates. Thematic to the exploration of the abyss, finding these nests is similar to finding the unspawnable but intended to be set-spawned Amakagame since only some locations may seem suitable for it.

EDIT: Saw this idea as somewhat universal. Find a nest, take it's stuff, chance to get pelted by birds. Looked around a bit on the Build Database for Layer 2, couldn't gather enough information to identify an existing corpse weeper nest (Could not tell if it was related to Dirt Spikes, all information on that had no access.).

The first one is made by kasai and is a much better texture. Finished one will have props in the nest like eggs and bones. Maybe even a helmet like the one on the hermit rat. Yes the bones and helmet makes since. Bones from prey and a helmet to suggest dead delver or eaten hermit rat.

Wouldn't happen till adventure probs, its not really a dungeon either (not at least what we class it as for adventure). Just random nests spawning. This is also probs a long way off because needs certain features we don't have, and needs the pillars built in L2 which we also don't have.

Ays talked about the locations, and I stated I'm willing to build the locations or pick out already good natural locations. Kasai called it a mini dungeon so I added it up thier as a joke. I can understand it taking a while bc adventure and coding, but it could use a acception. ;)

LukyLucas commented 2 years ago

Not exception, acception*

Build team would build them, unless it was done as a build event but we don't really host them anymore.

But that is as far as this would get in a good while.

Joked about it being a mini-dungeon 'cause it has the challenge - mobs, reward - treasure, and exploration - entrance, to one.

Nazarick had trapped chests that spawn creatures upon being opened, and although I didn't find anything in these chests, there were plans for those items to respawn. Don't know what would be wrong with random nests spawning either, other than constructing a system for that, but there was the Dead Delvers Mechanic in the public design database, which was basically this idea but no added challenge.

Suggesting this issue could lean towards primarily either building with set spawns, or coding with randomization. Building gets you a new dungeon based off of an important location in the anime. Coding sets groundwork for the dead delvers mechanic.

Aha i only mean that in terms of adventure we wouldn't class it "a dungeon" but I get your point. I mean you don't look at a nest and go "ooo dungeon".

Yes it is much more likely they would work under a similar system to the Dead Delvers mechanic, i'd imagine it would be a mix of both building and coding in the sense builders would make various locations and then we can use those co-ordinates and randomly spawn them in there. Similar to how stingerhead nests would work probably.

Dead delvers is kinda just the same to be honest, but it's more random. Find a dead body, might have mobs spawned around something or something could trigger when looting it - would depend how they 'died'. All under the same principles really.
