The vanilla Minecraft occlusion effect that simulates 3D audio positioning by applying a low pass filter to sounds behind the player seems to desync from the client's actual angle after using the freecam. For example, a chest being opened to your right may have full-strength filtering applied to it, as if it were behind you. Occurring with Minecraft 1.18.1 as client while connected to a 1.18.1 Spigot server (unmodded except for World Backup plugin).
Sorry, cancel that. I had a tray of router parts in front of my right speaker that I didn't realize was blocking a lot of the audio from that direction; I cannot replicate this with the tray moved out of the way.
