Ubuntu Installation issues

Hello, Thank you very much for providing this package, I am curious to try out your algorithms! Could you update the page https://smil.cmm.minesparis.psl.eu/doc/p260.html with working installation instructions? I am running Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS and had some issues. Suggested changes:

run all commands with sudo
add chmod +x to make the files executable

replace conda installation of libraries with

sudo apt-get install g++ cmake swig \
                 libpng-dev libjpeg-dev libtiff-dev curl \
                 qtbase5-dev python3-pyqt5

remove typical workflow, because it does not work
replacecontrib/scripts/config-smil -h with contrib/scripts/config-smil --help

Please let me know in case I missed anything or if I can help in any way.

add chmod +x to make the files executable Which files are you talking about ? Maybe some scripts in the contrib directory ?

Unless strictly necessary, all dependence on system libraries must be avoided.

replacecontrib/scripts/config-smil -h with contrib/scripts/config-smil --help OK. It shall work with both.
