9 years ago EDIT: It appears my initial assumption was wrong. Rather than replacing all the flowers with Sunflowers, it appears that every kind of flower can generate, but they generate in clusters so large that they eliminate all other flowers in a massive radius.
It appears that the config update's terrain gen functions don't accommodate metadata values for every block, as every generated instance of Double-Tall Grass, Large Ferns, Rose Bushes, Lilacs, or Peonies are instead replaced with Sunflowers (the first metadata value of all double-tall plant blocks), causing Redwood biomes to look quite odd.
