This is an extended version of my suggestion posted in the discord server.
Moar Sounds!
Operating a block makes a sound related to its use, examples include different cooking sounds for furnaces and ovens, opening chest sound, metal clanging when using the anvil, and item-specific sounds when crafting something in the workbench. (Also, doors need an opening/closing sound). To make the task a bit easier on the devs, I may suggest having it so sounds can be changed via resource packs and leaving the sound work to the fans.
Visual stuffs.
When a cooking block is being interacted with, it should have a state where it's visually on. Chests should visually open when being opened. Particles should be emitted from anvils when used. Maybe allow torches and lanterns to be animated?
Ambience.
Torches and lanterns should make a fire sound, lava needs to go pop every now and then, and music needs to exist! Seriously, a chill song and a boss fight song is the bare minimum of what I want for the ost. Oh, uh, creatures need to make sounds.
