mathjax was at least a problem, but not the only one I guess... this is done 'better' in 9dc92d1 which also means, that pages with LaTeX style math displays must have the math: true in their frontmatter (same place as draft and dates etc.)

maybe also a problem with our local WiFi - on my phone it was fine on mobile data, but not loading properly on WiFi
